Bourgas attracts creative people because it produced many of Bulgaria’s gifted artists, poets, actors, musicians and singers. Its cultural life is vibrant and innovative. It can boast that it has numerous galleries, museums, an opera company, a theatre company, a symphony orchestra and a puppet theatre company.

The Art Gallery in Sozopol is in the old town close to the beach and is an historic building. The gallery has paintings and sculptures by some of the most famous Bulgarian artists, including numerous marinescapes by Prof. Moutafov who created his works in Sozopol for over 30 years.
