Karnobat
is 60 km west of Bourgas on the way to Sofia. What has remained from the old town are a 15th Century Turkish bath, a mosque from the beginning of the 19th Century and a clock tower erected in 1841 by master builders from Tryavna.

The Saint Ivan Bogoslov (St. John the Theologian) Church was built in 1880. There are valuable examples of the art of wood carving in the family homes of Nikifor Minkov and Saroolou Bay. The town also has a museum, art gallery and the home of the writer, Dimitar Polyanov.
